A leading international engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong professional with experience in large-scale construction, ideally data centres, to take responsibility for commercial performance, contract management, procurement and project financials.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate tender and construction budgets to protect agreed profit margins.
• Oversee cost reporting, forecasting and monthly financial reviews.
• Manage procurement processes and subcontractor agreements.
• Review contracts and tenders to secure commercially advantageous outcomes.
• Assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier variations.
• Manage interim payment applications and agreements with client representatives.
• Monitor project cash flow alongside the Finance Department.
• Manage contractual correspondence, notices, claims and disputes.
• Maintain project risk and opportunity management processes.
• Ensure compliance with contract programmes and internal procedures.
• Identify and manage commercial risks across the project.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
• Provide commercial advice to Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors.
• Mentor and support the wider commercial team.
• Ensure contracts are administered correctly to protect the business's commercial position.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Experience in a commercial leadership role on large-scale construction projects, ideally data centres.
• Strong understanding of construction operations and commercial project management.
• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, or an engineering background with commercial responsibilities.
• Good knowledge of contract documentation, contractual obligations and commercial risk.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
