Job Description

Compliance Coordinator – Food Manufacturing

Euros 40000 - Euros 45000

Co. Longford

Drive food safety. Own compliance. Keep the site audit-ready.

Are you an experienced Quality professional with a strong background in food safety, retailer standards and quality management systems?

We’re looking for a proactive Compliance Coordinator to strengthen and develop the Food Safety Management System at a busy food manufacturing site. Working closely with the Quality Manager and teams across the factory, you’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving systems and making a real impact on site performance.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the site meets the

requirements of BRCGS, IFS, customer Codes of Practice (COPs) and internal quality standards. From managing audits and closing out non-conformances to improving procedures and embedding a strong food safety culture, you’ll help ensure the site is audit-ready every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own food safety compliance – develop, implement and maintain the Food Safety Management System in line with BRCGS, IFS, customer
requirements and internal standards.
  • Drive audit readiness – coordinate internal audits, support customer and third-party audits, and ensure all non-conformances are closed out within agreed deadlines.
  • Review retailer standards – assess customer Codes of Practice, technical updates and alerts, identifying gaps and implementing changes to maintain compliance.
  • Improve procedures and documentation – conduct gap analyses, develop SOPs and manage document control across the Food Safety Management System.
  • Lead continuous improvement – identify opportunities to strengthen quality systems, improve processes and reduce recurring issues.
  • Monitor quality performance – maintain weekly site KPIs, analyse trends and provide reports to support decision-making.
  • Support factory operations – work with Production and department managers to embed quality standards and resolve food safety issues.
  • Strengthen food safety culture – engage teams across the site, promote best practice and ensure corrective actions are embedded into daily operations.
  • Maintain critical controls – support HACCP reviews, traceability exercises, supplier approval processes and metal detection CCP compliance.
  • Support the wider Quality team – provide cover for key Quality department responsibilities, including customer complaints and factory-based quality management.

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a dedicated Quality role within food manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceutical or a similarly regulated industry.
  • A degree-level qualification in Food Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, risk assessments, HACCP and Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience working with BRCGS, IFS and retailer Codes of Practice, ideally Tesco or similar major retailers.
  • Experience with internal auditing, document control, SOP development and corrective action management.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, report on KPIs and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to influence teams across the business.
  • A proactive, detail-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to travel to other European sites when required.

What Makes This Opportunity Interesting?

  • Business-wide influence: Work with Production, Technical and other departments to drive lasting improvements.
  • Continuous development: Build your expertise through quality improvement projects, audit leadership and food safety initiatives.
  • Career progression: future Quality management opportunities.
