Appointed Person – Data Centre Construction

Salary: €75,000–€85,000 + Package

We are recruiting an experienced Appointed Person to join a major data centre construction project in Eemshaven, Netherlands, with a leading engineering and construction specialist.

The successful candidate will oversee lifting operations, ensuring all lifting activities are safely planned, coordinated and executed in line with project

requirements, regulations and site procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the planning and control of lifting operations across the project.
• Prepare, review and approve lifting plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Assess lifting

requirements, including crane selection, lifting accessories, load weights and ground conditions.

• Coordinate crane operations and lifting activities with construction teams, subcontractors and site management.
• Ensure lifting operations comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and site safety procedures.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor lifting activities to ensure safe execution.
• Identify lifting risks and implement appropriate control measures.
• Maintain lifting documentation, permits and records.
• Liaise with crane operators, lift supervisors, slingers and signallers.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across the project.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Appointed Person on major construction or industrial projects.
• Experience planning and managing complex lifting operations.
• Relevant Appointed Person lifting qualification, such as CPCS or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, crane operations, lifting plans and risk assessments.
• Experience working on data centre, mission-critical, industrial or large-scale construction projects is advantageous.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
