Java Application Server Engineer (J2EE)

Background:

This position aims to improve the quality and reliability of computer systems. This role is mainly focused on the operation and optimization of J2EE application servers

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the operational state of J2EE hosting platforms (Monitoring, Availability, Resilience – BCP & DRP)
• Deploy and operate JEE application servers (JBOSS, Tomcat, FatJar) and web servers (Apache)
• Integrate, test and validate operating procedures
• Implement and enforce patch management policy and manage the deprecation of web and application servers
• Perform FMV capacity sizing and planning
• Provide support for hosted applications: performance analysis, fault diagnosis, and tuning
• Assist in the implementation of the project and contribute to the definition of JEE standard technical components

• Operational maintenance of J2EE platforms
• Deploy and operate JBOSS, Tomcat, FatJar, Apache
• Validated and documented operating procedures
• Execution of patch and deprecation plans
• Automated scripts and workflows
• Resource sizing and FMV planning reports
• Performance and tuning support documentation

Mandatory skills:

• Extensive experience in production environments with JBOSS, Tomcat, FatJar
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Patch management and obsolescence management
• Validation of the operating procedure
• Log monitoring and analysis (must be able to read and interpret logs)
• Agile Scrum Methodology
• Familiarity with the Apache ecosystem and application relaunch processes
