A leading international engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong professional with experience in large-scale construction, ideally data centres, to take responsibility for commercial performance, contract management, procurement and project financials.Key ResponsibilitiesValidate tender and construction budgets to protect agreed profit margins.Oversee cost reporting, forecasting and monthly financial reviews.Manage procurement processes and subcontractor agreements.Review contracts and tenders to secure commercially advantageous outcomes.Assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier variations.Manage interim payment applications and agreements with client representatives.Monitor project cash flow alongside the Finance Department.Manage contractual correspondence, notices, claims and disputes.Maintain project risk and opportunity management processes.Ensure compliance with contract programmes and internal procedures.Identify and manage commercial risks across the project.Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.Provide commercial advice to Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors.Mentor and support the wider commercial team.Ensure contracts are administered correctly to protect the business's commercial position.RequirementsMinimum 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.Experience in a commercial leadership role on large-scale construction projects, ideally data centres.Strong understanding of construction operations and commercial project management.Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, or an engineering background with commercial responsibilities.Good knowledge of contract documentation, contractual obligations and commercial risk.Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.Package120,000–130,000 annual salaryAccommodation providedRotation includedTravel covered28,000 living allowanceOpportunity to work on a major mission-critical construction project in Germany.
