You'll work alongside board-certified surgeons, talented residents, interns and an outstanding multidisciplinary team, seeing a fascinating referral caseload that keeps every week interesting. Yes, you'll teach too, but don't let that put you off if you've never lectured before. If you enjoy explaining your thought process, encouraging others and sharing what you've learned over the years, you'll fit in brilliantly. Why You'll Enjoy Salary negotiated around you and your experience. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance available. Generous superannuation and clinical market loading. A referral caseload that will challenge and inspire you. Teach, mentor and help shape the next generation of surgeons. Protected opportunities for research and professional development. The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University isn't your typical referral hospital. It's a place where specialists, academics and clinicians work side by side because everyone shares the same goal: providing exceptional care while continually pushing the profession forward. There are no egos to navigate, just knowledgeable people who enjoy working together and supporting one another. Then there's Perth. When the last case is finished, you're never far from something worth doing. A swim at Cottesloe Beach, dinner by the Swan River, a bike ride, a surf, a weekend exploring the Margaret River wine region or simply enjoying another sunny evening outdoors. With more than 3,000 hours of sunshine each year, it's the sort of lifestyle people dream about, without having to compromise on the quality of their career. So, what’s next? If you're looking for a role where you can challenge yourself clinically, inspire future veterinarians and enjoy an outstanding lifestyle along the way, we'd love to hear from you. Emergency Veterinarian

🏢 CV-Library 📍 Australia 💰 £100000 - £105000/annum CPD, All fees paid for

Emergency Vet | Rockhampton, Queensland | $188k+ per annum DOE | No On-Call. Let’s face it, you're not scrolling job sites because you're desperate for work. You're looking for the right opportunity. What if your next emergency vet job came with better weather, better work-life balance, and absolutely no 3 am phone calls? Okay, there is a catch… you’ll still have to deal with the occasional snake, tick, emergency surgery, and Labrador that has eaten something it definitely shouldn't have. But you’ll also have a modern, purpose-built emergency hospital, an experienced nursing team around you, genuine clinical autonomy and the opportunity to become part of something that is still young enough for you to make a real impact. Welcome to CQ Animal Emergency. We’re the only dedicated emergency referral hospital in Central Queensland, based in Rockhampton and supporting more than 15 veterinary practices across a 330km radius. After 18 months of building the service and strong relationships with the local veterinary community, we’re ready to grow the team. The role This is emergency medicine, with plenty of variety and no appointment-booking monotony. You’ll manage emergency consultations, hospitalised patients, medical and surgical cases, critical care patients and referrals. Caseloads generally average 7 patients per shift with the occasional busier shift, particularly in summer when Queensland's wildlife decides to keep everyone on their toes. You'll usually work sole charge, but you're not on your own. You'll have 1-2 experienced nurses around you, access to an on-call vet, and ongoing clinical guidance whenever you need it. What's on offer? $188,000+ AUD for the right experienced candidate. Full-time or part-time, approximately 27–38 hours per week. 10–13.5-hour shifts across weeknights, weekends, and public holidays. No on-call. No home visits. 5 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave. CPD allowance, uniform, use of a car and staff pet discounts. Temporary accommodation Travel assistance may be considered. Purpose-built emergency facility. Equipment less than two years old, including ultrasound, endoscopy and high-end multiparameters. A varied caseload including dogs, cats, wildlife and exotics. Mentorship and clinical support. You? Ideally, you'll have 5+ years' experience, including some emergency or referral work. We'll also consider vets with strong GP backgrounds or experience in a referral setting. We're looking for someone clinically confident, calm under pressure, and comfortable making decisions independently, but who also knows when to pick up the phone and ask for another opinion. When you're off the clock… You can be on the beach within 30 minutes, spend your days off fishing, diving, golfing, mountain biking or exploring the great outdoors, and enjoy the kind of sunshine that makes a British winter feel like a distant memory. With the Keppel Islands, Byfield National Park, Great Barrier Reef and Whitsundays all within reach, there’s certainly no shortage of places to explore. So, what's next? If you’re looking for a role where your voice matters, your growth is encouraged, and your life outside work is just as important as the care you provide inside the clinic, this could be the move that changes everything. Forget the polished application; just reach out with whatever version of your CV you have on hand. We want to know the person, not just the paperwork. The next few years at CQ Animal Emergency are going to be exciting. Why not help us write the next chapter?
